Narendra Kumar Ahmed once said that the best thing about fashion is that it changes. Few designers embody that idea more completely than Kumar, who has moved from Elle to Amazon, earned international recognition, and played a pivotal role in shaping India&rsquo;s fashion-week culture. In 2013, Esquire USA even named his among the best menswear stores in the world.

Now, however, the designer known to friends as Nari is embracing perhaps his most radical change yet: he has stepped away from fashion and into the world of wellness technology.
Later this month, his latest association, Wellscend &mdash; a wellness intelligence platform &mdash; will debut in Dubai. &ldquo;It maps a whole person, not just a handful of wearable scores,&rdquo; he says, already animated by the possibilities of this new field.
Yet the question remains: can someone who dressed everyone from Amitabh Bachchan to Shah Rukh Khan, and helped shape an industry, truly leave fashion behind?
For Nari, the answer seems rooted in evolution. &ldquo;How can one create fashion in a world while being disconnected from what is happening around us?&rdquo; he asks.
He admits he had &ldquo;one last show&rdquo; in him, complete with an extraordinary vision, but it was never realised. Perhaps that, too, is part of the story. His fashion chapter may be over for now, but with reinvention clearly on his mind, Nari&rsquo;s book is far from written.
<h2>From the frying pan&hellip;</h2>
If ever one needed proof that the internet is an unforgiving place, Kangana Ranaut&rsquo;s Janmashtami kadhai delivered it &mdash; without even turning on the stove.
The stylish star was in her mother&rsquo;s kitchen in Mandi, stirring away for an Instagram reel, when eagle-eyed netizens spotted the obvious: the flame was missing in action. Within minutes, the kadhai became hotter than the dish inside it, and the meme brigade got to work. Actor Bakhtyar Irani happily joined the roast, adding his own masala to the proceedings.

But Kangana, who has survived both Bollywood and politics, clearly knows how to handle the heat &mdash; even when the gas is off. As the joke gathered steam, she hit back with a simple request: perhaps everyone could concentrate on the food rather than conducting a forensic investigation of her cooking technique.
In the end, the stove may have been off, but the internet certainly wasn&rsquo;t &mdash; and what a tasty little nugget it left us with!
<h2>Inventing Anna</h2>
Fashion had a poetic full-circle moment on Sunday night when Anna Bredemeyer stepped out in an archival Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla creation for the designers&rsquo; 40th-anniversary gala &mdash; decades after debuting the very same &lsquo;Architectural Coat&rsquo; in their seminal 1991 showcase.
Widely regarded as India&rsquo;s original supermodel, Anna remains a living chronicle of the golden era of the Indian runway. It is thrilling news, then, that she has spent the past few years quietly penning her memoirs, aiming to send the manuscript to print by year-end.

&ldquo;I had enough imagery to fill a visual retrospective, but the writing simply took over,&rdquo; the glamazon tells yours truly. &ldquo;It caught me completely off guard,&rdquo; she laughs. &ldquo;I may have drafted some great emails over the years, but I never imagined I&rsquo;d sit down to write an entire book.&rdquo;
Spanning her early days growing up German-Indian &mdash; &ldquo;in an era when people only recognised Anglo-Indians&rdquo; &mdash; to her meteoric rise following her 1976 pageant turn, the book promises an insider&rsquo;s trove of candour. Among its most tantalizing revelations is the surprising road she nearly took before the catwalk claimed her.
Anna has charted the evolution of Indian fashion from an intimate, improvisational subculture into today&rsquo;s multi-crore powerhouse, collaborating with every titan along the way. If her runway legacy is any indication, readers can expect high drama, sharp wit, and no shortage of mischief between the covers.
