Hello, Brother!

Salman Khan brings effortless swag to Kalina’s private terminal as he jets out of the city on Tuesday.

Six Appeal

That a biopic on Yuvraj Singh has been in the works comes as no surprise, but gear up: this one promises to be a wild, unvarnished ride through the life of Indian cricket’s quintessential ‘golden generation’ rockstar. Backed by Bhushan Kumar and helmed by Ravi Bhagchandka, the ambitious project’s screenplay is finally snapping into focus. But here is the juicy bit: insiders insist this won’t be a sanitised, strictly-between-the-creases retelling.

Alongside the grit, the glory, and the six sixes, the film will lean into Yuvi’s swashbuckling off-field persona — romantic escapades included, with former flame Kim Sharma reportedly very much in the script. With approvals falling into place and the final draft being polished, expect an unfiltered mix of cricketing heroics, heartbreak, and high-octane drama. Talk about hitting it out of the park.

A Capital Love Story

Our favourite primetime face tells yours truly he’s now “one step closer to retirement,” though we suspect Rajdeep Sardesai is only teasing. Still, the veteran newsman and wife Sagarika Ghose have officially entered empty-nester territory now that their doctor son, Ishan, has tied the knot with longtime love Riya Krishnamurthy on October 17.
Sagarika Ghose, Ishan Sardesai, Riya Krishnamurthy, and Rajdeep Sardesai
Opting for an intimate celebration, the couple had a civil registration on Saturday at the Krishnamurthy residence in New Delhi, surrounded only by a close circle of family. A radiant Sagarika looked the very picture of maternal pride and understated elegance, with the day sweetened by the fact that the newlyweds are setting up home right in the capital — just a stone’s throw from the family fold.
While these Delhi nuptials were strictly cosy, don’t pack away the party wear just yet; a much larger bash is already in the pipeline for “probably February.” In the meantime, warm wishes are pouring in from friends like Dia Mirza Rekhi, Sandhya Mridul, Pia S Benegal, and Jitesh Pillai.
Beyond the romance, Ishan and Riya’s union turns the Sardesai clan into a veritable cultural map of India. With Sagarika bringing the East, Rajdeep representing the West, son-in-law Zico Bahl (daughter Tarini’s husband) hailing from the North, and Riya completing the circle with her roots in the South, the family tree now swpans every horizon. As Rajdeep signs off with a grin, “We are now a sangam of every corner of this wonderful country!” Who needs primetime debates when your own living room brings the whole nation together?

Gracefully Guarded

Shiamak Davar
For someone whose life revolves around grand spectacles and high-wattage spotlights, Shiamak Davar remains masterfully elusive. Take it from yours truly, having spent the better part of the year trying to pin him down for updates, only to be met with that trademark, polite reticence. It’s an almost baffling quietude, especially in a calendar year packed with creative milestones — directing and choreographing an ambitious theatrical production, followed by a stirring patriotic showcase for the Commonwealth Games.
The ace choreographer — dare I call him a veteran, given that timeless bounce in his step? — marked another trip around the sun on Monday, opting for a celebration that was characteristically understated. Rather than throwing a splashy showbiz bash, he kept the guest list intimate, heading to By the Mekong at The St Regis for elevated Asian fare and sweeping skyline views — toasting the milestone surrounded strictly by family and his closest coterie of confidants.
With the colossal buzz around Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming Ramayana looming on the horizon, the silence surely can’t last forever. Here’s hoping the big-ticket project nudges Shiamak toward a timely birthday resolution: stepping into his own limelight with a somewhat less elusive PR approach!

All That Glitters

Back home we’re barely done putting away the Dussehra sweets, but leave it to the Manhattan set to kick off Diwali season already — in full, unapologetic couture. Anjula Acharia and Furhan Ahmad transformed the iconic Ambassadors Clubhouse into a sultry, gold-and-crimson wonderland for the annual All That Glitters Diwali Ball on October 17.
Falguni Peacock and Anjula Acharia
Working the room alongside The Real Housewives of New York City’s Jessel Taank, content creator Aditya Madiraju, actor Poorna Jagannathan, and magazine editor Radhika Jones, Falguni and Shane Peacock were visibly thrilled — half the room had clearly raided their atelier for the night.
Amid the champagne clinking, filmmaker Mira Nair offered a poignant, beautifully spoken reflection on how Diwali’s footprint abroad has transformed from quiet living-room rituals into this brand of unabashed cultural takeover. Anjula dubbed the evening her “love letter to New York City” and the thriving South Asians claiming space in it. Best of all? Every drop of that glamour served a purpose, raising major funds for South Asian Youth Action (SAYA). Diwali done right, well in advance.
