Timeless beauty: Suchitra Pillai on Lillete Dubey

For actor Suchitra Pillai, Lillete Dubey — or “little mom,” as she has affectionately called Lillete since 1997 — is the embodiment of enduring allure. Hers is a vitality that effortlessly outpaces chronology, defined far less by conventional preservation than by an unstoppable zest for life and an absolute refusal to let age dictate relevance.

From the stage to the screen, Lillete proves that timelessness isn’t a static ideal to be preserved under glass, but an active, dynamic force powered by sheer curiosity and purpose. “Lillete defies age not just in her looks, but in her unbelievable energy — no one can quite believe she’s past 70,” says Suchitra.
“What I admire most is that she truly embodies what it means to age gracefully. Beyond a regular skincare routine, she’s never relied on external procedures to maintain herself. From her early modelling days to founding her theatre company and taking on formidable screen roles, she remains my constant inspiration. She frankly operates with the stamina of someone in their 40s, and that restless, ‘what’s next?’ spirit is what keeps her so vibrantly young in face, mind, and spirit. Kudos to my little mom — I hope to age with her grace.”

Trouble in Paradise?

For a woman who believes in storybook romance, chapter two of happily-ever-after is reading like a slow unravelling.
Whispers rippling through the couture circuit suggest that a perennial front-row fixture — celebrated as much for her enviable wardrobe and high-wattage orbit as her creative output — is quietly weathering a domestic storm. Behind the gilded ’gram pictures and calibrated appearances, her second walk down the aisle has reportedly run aground.
Insiders note that the fault lines between the jet-set darling and her elusive spouse run deep. While both have made an art of preserving glossy optics, the shared calendar has quietly vanished, replaced by an increasingly icy distance.
Whether this is merely an extended chill or a definitive final bow remains officially unsaid. But within their tight-knit circles, the hush is deliberate, and those who know both camps insist that bridging this divide is an ambition no script doctor can rescue.

Framing her own legacy

There is something undeniably electric about watching legacy make room for reinvention. For Atyaan Jungalwala, lineage runs deep: her grandparents, Kekoo and Khorshed Gandhy, established Mumbai’s iconic Chemould in 1963; a gallery stewardship later championed by her mother, Shireen Gandhy. Yet when Atyaan carved out Chemould CoLab in 2022, it was designed from the outset as an agile platform with an eye uniquely its own.

That independent stride was on full display at Frieze London this month, where she marked a confident debut with a solo presentation of Jayeeta Chatterjee. Between taking in the cultural calendar — from Salman Toor at the Courtauld to Reena Saini Kallat at Richard Saltoun — she rubbed shoulders with everyone from Bianca Jagger to Brian Lara. Mother Shireen made the trip across the pond as well, though the dynamic has shifted in the best way possible. As Atyaan notes with easy charm, “Mum was there as a visitor.” This was entirely her own show to steer.
Touching down back in Mumbai a few days ago, there is zero time for jet lag. Atyaan has already pivoted toward the horizon, curating CoLab’s milestone fifth-anniversary group show, slated for March 2027. Dynasty may open doors, but it is clear Atyaan is busy designing the room inside.

Ex Appeal

Bollywood has long treated former flames as combustible material, but Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan are quietly rewriting the post-divorce playbook. Take Hrithik’s October 26 birthday tribute to Sussanne, dropping lines like “you are amazing” and “I am and will always be here cheering for you.” In an industry where cordiality is usually manufactured by PR teams, this wasn’t mere lip service.

The real proof was on display in Fort last week at Farah Khan Ali’s latest jewellery collection launch. Sussanne walked in alongside partner Arslan Goni, while Hrithik arrived with Saba Azad. There were no tense side-eyes, no coordinated evasions, just effortless camaraderie. Around the same time, the quartet was also spotted at Kunal Kapoor’s intimate birthday bash, flanking Kunal and wife Naina Bachchan as he cut two berry-topped cakes.

Compare that to the suffocating chill whenever another high-profile B-town ex-pair — who never even made it down the aisle — cross paths in public. Those encounters are case studies in stiff jawlines and sudden phone-checking. Hrithik and Sussanne have bypassed the standard script of performative distance, showing that moving on doesn’t require erasing the history, the families, or the mutual respect. It may have taken time and grace to find this rhythm, but in a town obsessed with drama, their quiet ease is incredibly impressive.

For a woman who believes in storybook romance, chapter two of happily-ever-after is reading like a slow unravelling.
