Bandra seems to be the hub of all fads: first with yoghurt stores opening at every corner (most are shut now) and then a nitro ice cream parlour that recently, narrowly dodged a fire.
Now serenading foodies of the locality is Dr Bubbles, which is trying to promote bubble teas that have been an Asian food fad for some time now.

We first had our taste of fruity syrup-filled bubbles as toppings on a cup of yoghurt (again, in Bandra) and have fallen in love with them since then.
Dr Bubbles (they call themselves 'chai specialist') offers flavoured ice teas (green or black) and cold coffee-style teas made with black tea too. For a store specialising in bubble teas, they don't have very innovative bubbles to pair with their teas, just basic fruit flavoured ones. The interiors too are basic with with two stools inside and a small outdoor seating section. As for their milk teas, they use non-dairy creamer we are told, with an addition of tapioca pearls.
We tried a Raspberry tea with strawberry bubbles (Rs 130 plus taxes for small and Rs 150 for large). One can also add jelly for toppings, everything is vegetarian. The tea, which was a tad bitter made for a refreshing drink and the bubbles, as always make for a fun addition for us.
