Do you know where to get the best Misal in the city? Have you ever queued just to get your hands on fresh, hot Bakarwadi? Then this quest is for you. As part of the Virasat Pune Heritage Week, travel group, The Western Routes and NGO Janwani Pune are hosting the Pune Food Hunt 2014.&nbsp;

The event is all about exploring Pune through its food, to get people to come with friends and meet other foodies. Participants will make teams of up to four people and go on a hunt for authentic Puneri food. On the hunt, they will need to decipher clues, locate famous eating joints in the city and perform tasks to win prizes.
While talking about the hunt, Jayesh Paranjape, orgniser of the event and proprietor of The Western Routes, says, &ldquo;The Pune Food Hunt is a food treasure hunt where teams will get a chance to explore the city through its food joints. During the hunt, teams have to strategise, locate famous eating joints in the city, perform eating and cooking tasks and finish the hunt in three hours.&rdquo;

Paranjape added that as compared to last year, this year there will have be new routes to explore and the clues will be different as well.
&ldquo;We have also changed and added some places as compared to last year, so that even if the same people participate, they will have some new challenges to face in the hunt and they will enjoy it more,&rdquo; he explains.
Prajakta Panshikar, consultant, Heritage Department of Janwani, says, &ldquo;This food hunt was started as part of the heritage hunt as we thought of involving food in this festival. So, we started with the food treasure hunt event last year which was a success.&rdquo;
The hunt will start at Shaniwarwada and end at Tilak Tank.

About Virasat Pune Heritage Week&nbsp; &ldquo;The people&rsquo;s movement for heritage and culture is known as Virasat Pune. Reputed organisations and professionals come together to create awareness about Pune&rsquo;s rich legacy and bring Punekars together for the cause of heritage conservation during the festival,&rdquo; explains Panshikar.
Other events that are part of the heritage festival include a Council Hall tour, a Pune Bazaar Walk, freedom fighter trail at Shaniwar Wada, Geological-Natural heritage tour, play with clay at Vishrambaugh Wada, display of rare Marathi books at Sahitya Parishad, tree walk at Empress Garden and Dhrupad on cello at Vishrambaug Wada.
