Uzo Bar and Kitchen Food: Good Service: Attentive Ambiance: Cosy
We dropped by at Uzo Bar and Kitchen on a weeknight just a few days after it opened, and were glad to find that it was drawing in crowds. The eatery, named after a Greek drink that the owner loves, replaces the erstwhile wine bar, Vinoteca by Sula.

Divided into two sections, Uzo has an al fresco seating offering an informal setting and a jazzy bar area enclosed behind glass doors.

Pics/Atul Kamble The al fresco section, where we chose to sit, was done up with minimalist cement benches with cushions, wooden tables and chairs. Over time, the space grows on you especially thanks to lights hanging by ropes and bamboo plants that make it a perfect place for a group hangout or a date.

Booze is priced a tad on the higher side and perhaps, a few attractive options like a beer tower or cocktail pitchers would work well for the place.
The Eruption Sour, a fine mix of vodka, thyme, Midori and fresh honeydew melon was thoroughly potent and had a certain zing to it. Two of this and you will be set for the evening. Uzo&rsquo;s menu includes a variety of starters, sliders (mini-burgers), burgers, fries, as well as main course items. We tried the Panko Crusted Shrimp (Rs 290), a crunchy preparation of shrimp coated with panko, a Japanese style breadcrumb, which made for the perfect appetiser. Since they didn&rsquo;t have sliders we opted for the BBQ Beef Burger Bun (Rs 320). The burger was accompanied by fries and boasted of a delicious juicy patty albeit a slightly chewy one. Also, we soon found ourselves biting on plain bread, as the patty was comparatively smallish for the burger. Next up, we tried the Garlic Knots (Rs 50). A type of garlic bread, it is made by tying pizza dough strips in a knot and baking them with butter and garlic. Warm and fluffy, it worked as a perfect comfort food. For the main course, we tried the Fish with Coconut Sauce (Rs 350) which had Basa cooked with chillies and coconut sauce served on top of garlic rice. This was a delicious preparation and managed to blend various flavours. Overall, Uzo manages to titillate your taste buds both with its food and drinks, though falls just short of giving the perfect experience, be it due to the long time they take to serve food or simply their restricted menu. We would prefer more options on&nbsp;our platter.
