Art
At Art Camp, conducted by the Circular Square with artist Vedha Sreeram, watch your child discover and create different kinds of folk art like mandala, tangle, geometric, Scandinavian and Moroccan tile art. “The workshop is focused on introducing the genesis of these art forms through teaching different kinds of folk and tangle art to children between the ages of six and 16, over the course of 10 days”, says Circular Square founder, Arti Subramanian.

Up-cycle, recycle



Let your kids find the artist in them with the Summer Art and Craft workshop set up by The Artsy Box and Brain Art, for the ages of six and above. “Children can learn to make things such as bottle art with recycled and up-cycled materials around them, and a few basic stationery items,” shares co-founder of Artsy Box, Vikram Totagi. With DIY lessons in rock art, mixed-media wall art and more, this workshop is the perfect way to jog your child’s creative mind.

Learning made fun

From grammar to science, Pune-based learning platform Unplggd has a range of summer workshops for kids across age groups. Curriculum designer Manali Navalakha Rathi informs us, “There is a camp on learning to have fun with phonics. Then, there’s My Amazing Body, where kids will get to make a life-sized human body [through craft] and understand how it works. There are also sessions on introduction to grammar and maths.” Another interesting workshop is themed on Roald Dahl, where children above the age of six will learn about his works, vocabulary-building and creative writing.

Take a write turn

For those looking to brush up their reading and writing skills, Tulika Publishers’ online summer camp has various workshops. Sign up for Jump Write In to practise creative writing with online and offline activities. It will also include reading four books that will be delivered home. Or, learn and improve your knowledge of vernaculars such as Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Gujarati and Bengali. The dates will be announced after  the registration.

Drama
A theatrical cruise

Bummed about missing your annual summer trip? Raell Padamsee’s Ace Productions has designed Summer Cruise with Drama, where participants will make virtual pit stops at London, Brazil, Egypt, India and Venice, to learn about the tenets of theatre in 10 days. “In London, there’s a section where they’ll get integrated as royals. In Brazil, they’ll learn about the Rio Carnival. At each place, there will be a performance. The idea is to help kids de-stress,” she shares. It’s divided into three age groups: four to six years, seven to nine years,  and 10 to 13 years.

Fun
Life skills matter

In today’s world, children need to master life skills such as digital storytelling, public speaking and money management. The Life Skills Summer Camp hosted by toy brand Toiing puts together 16 interactive sessions on storytelling through stop-motion animation, video editing, public speaking, phone photography, graphic designing, PowerPoint, finance management and magic, among others. “Apart from live sessions, actor Cyrus Broacha will be joining us for masterclasses on animation, video editing and smartphone photography,” CEO Simon Jacob reveals about the month-long camp for kids between seven and 14 years of age.
