Electronic DJs and producers are becoming as ubiquitous in the Indian indie scene as the number of vada pav stalls at Mumbai's railway stations. So, it's always refreshing to come across a five-piece act that gets up on stage and thrashes out danceable alt-rock using moody vocals, guitars and drums. And what sets the F16s further apart from the pack is that they use The Strokes as a blueprint for their sound, which lends their music a flavour that audiences had stopped getting a taste of once The Supersonics — arguably one of the country's most promising indie outfits ever — disbanded in 2014.
