The recently-opened Mitti Café in Borivli employs a team with disabilities, paving the way towards empowerment in the hospitality sector. We drop by to explore its inclusive-forward approach

The cafe interiors feature brightly coloured walls and decorative pieces made by the team
As you step into Mitti Café in Borivli East, the colourful interiors are hard to miss. Pastel-striped walls, hand-painted mirrors, crochet details and hanging mason jars lend the space a playful charm. Curious to explore more than its inviting décor, we decided to try the menu and chat with the minds behind it.
Founder Aline Alam draws our attention to the details that make the space special. “Ninety per cent of the mason jars that you see displayed at this café are hand-made by our team,” she says, pointing to the unusual décor that greets patrons by the entrance.
