Be a volunteer to add imagination to the lives of maginalised children

Do you lend different voices to the characters in a story while reading it aloud in your head? Can you imagine how a beanstalk’s voice differs from that of the selfish giant? If yes, volunteering platform ConnectFor’s open call for talents might interest you. The platform that was founded by Shloka Ambani and Maniti Shah is looking to create an audio repository of books for underprivileged children in the city.

Sneha Suryawanshi (inset), senior operations associate at ConnectFor, shares, “We partner with several non-governmental organisations [NGO] that work for the betterment of underprivileged kids. For our upcoming audio book recording session, we are focussing on visually impaired kids from marginalised communities.” The recorded audio books will be shared with students from the NGOs, Vardayani Apang Seva Sanstha and Suryoday Trust. “We are open to anyone willing to [virtually] record motivational and self-help books for kids between 10 and 15 years of age, but someone with a trained voice will be preferred,” Suryawanshi signs off.
