The Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths nabbed a constable attached to the Chinchwad police station for accepting a bribe.
Vijay Borde (38) who works in the passport verification section at the Chinchwad police station, allegedly demanded Rs 1,000 from a 25-year-old passport applicant for allowing the verification process to go through.
Suraj Kannake registered a complaint with the ACB yesterday. Police Inspector Prakash Shinde said Borde had earlier taken Rs 3,000 from Kannake’s landlord Sunil Bhagwat, after he found out that the former did not make out a rent agreement with the complainant.
