The anti-corruption bureau (ACB) has arrested an advocate and is on the lookout for an inspector posted at the Railway Crime Branch office in Dadar, Mumbai, in a Rs 4.5-lakh bribery case.
According to ACB, the complainant was informed by a relative that he would have to pay Rs 10 lakh to the inspector to avoid being arrested in a case registered earlier this year at the Bandra Government Railway Police Station.
During verification of the allegations, the ACB found that the advocate had negotiated and finally settled the bribe amount at Rs 4.5 lakh. A trap was subsequently laid, and the advocate was caught red-handed by an ACB team while accepting the Rs 4.5 lakh bribe from the complainant.
