According to Antop Hill Police officers, the duo admitted during questioning that they had planned and executed the murder together.
A woman and her partner have been arrested for allegedly murdering her 37-year-old husband in Mumbai’s Antop Hill area.
The crime came to light around 3 am on Monday when the man was found dead at his residence in the Rajiv Gandhi Nagar slum, opposite a public garbage dump. A 38-year-old acquaintance of the victim reported the incident to the police, following which a murder case was registered.
During preliminary interrogation, the 26-year-old woman confessed to her involvement and also revealed her partner’s role in the crime.
Acting on a tip-off from an undercover informant, police tracked down the woman’s 27-year-old partner to a slum near the Mira Datar Dargah area.
As the team approached, he attempted to flee towards nearby railway tracks but was swiftly apprehended by the police.
According to Antop Hill Police officers, the duo admitted during questioning that they had planned and executed the murder together.
“Jealousy and the desire to continue their relationship without interference was the primary motives behind the crime,” said an officer privy to the investigation.
