Mumbai Crime Branch arrests three with foreign-made pistols, 47 live cartridges

According to police, the Anti-Extortion Cell received specific information that some individuals from another state were coming to Mumbai to illegally sell firearms and live cartridges

The Mumbai Crime Branch’s Anti-Extortion Cell arrested three men and seized three foreign-made pistols along with 47 live cartridges during a late-night operation near St George Hospital in south Mumbai, officials said on Saturday.
Trap laid after tip-off
According to the police, the anti-extortion cell received specific information that some individuals from another state were coming to Mumbai to illegally sell firearms and live cartridges. Acting on the tip-off, a trap was laid on Friday around 10.45 pm near P D’Mello Road, close to the road leading towards the Eastern Freeway.
