Acting on a tip-off, the crime detection branch cell-3 of Mira-Bhayandar, Vasai-Virar (MBVV) Police arrested three men from Rajasthan for allegedly possessing heroin worth over Rs 8.10 crore.

According to officers, SPO Suhas Kamble received information on a drug deal that was to take place near Shripal-1 Tower in Fadarwadi, Vasai East.


Following directives from senior officers, Inspector Shahuraj Ranware led a team to lay a trap at the spot.



Late in the evening, the officers intercepted a Swift car and arrested its occupants – Samundar Singh Rup Singh Deora (49), a resident of Sirohi, and Yuvraj Singh Bhawanisingh Rathod (28) and Takatsingh Karansingh Rajput (38), both residents of Jodhpur.

After searching their bags, the officers recovered 2.011 kg of heroin, valued at Rs 8.04 crore. The police have also seized the Swift car, worth Rs 5.65 lakh, and a mobile phone from the accused.

A case has been registered at Waliv Police Station under the relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Police Commissioner Niket Kaushik, Additional Police Commissioner Dattatray Shinde, Deputy Commissioner of Police Sandeep Doifode, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Madan Ballal.
