The incident took place late in the evening, prompting police to begin an investigation into the motive behind the shooting.

The businessman has been identified as Vishwanath Panvelkar.
“Two bike-borne men had fired near Panveklar's residence. All the members in the house are safe and we are investigating the matter further," said Sachin Gore, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Zone 4, told mid-day.
