Sources say the two alumni haven't been invited to JJ Institute of Applied Arts' 75th year celebrations

Today, when JJ Institute of Applied Arts (JJIA) begins its 75th year celebrations, famous alumni will join the fun.
But college officials hope that two such alumni Raj and Uddhav Thackeray will stay away.

Sources said the college authorities were so keen on keeping politics away from the campus that they didn't even send invites to the warring cousins.

One source said, "Our college authorities requested us not to call Raj and Uddhav to the event. We don't know the reason, but they probably fear that alumni like them might question the drawbacks of the college."

However, G Waghmare, director in-charge of college, said, "The alumni who attend the event will be like a student for us, not a celebrity or a politician.

We've called all our alumni. It's up to them to make the time for the event."

The students said Uddhav and Raj could have been invited to the painting event. As part of this event, students will paint the college walls around the theme of Ramayana.

They will also put up several 10 ft canvases for the alumni. One canvas will cater to four alumni.

Uddhav and Raj remained unavailable for comment des-pite repeated calls and SMSes.
