Police have solved the murder of 47-year-old Chetan Bharadwaj in his plush apartment at Malad on October 15. Nawaz Ahmed Siddique (21) was arrested by the Bangur Nagar police officials yesterday. The youth confessed to the crime and also revealed that Bharadwaj had forced him to have sexual relations and had promised to get him a job. <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/oct/Bangur-nagar.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 478px;" /> The accused Nawaz Siddique was nabbed by the police yesterday Almost a year ago, the deceased had hired Siddique, a window fitter, to repair the windows in his house. During the conversation, Bharadwaj, a freelance designer, asked Siddique to leave his CV with him and told him he would help the worker get a job at a multinational company. But in return, he asked for sexual favours. The deceased allegedly had sex with him several times, but the promised job offer never materialised. In his confession to the police, the accused revealed that on the day of the incident, Bharadwaj had forced himself upon the young man. In a fit of rage, the youth picked up a knife and killed Bharadwaj. He also stole his wallet, took Rs 2,500 from it and threw it away in Powai. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone IX) Dr Mahesh Patil said, &ldquo;After the murder, Siddique decamped with three mobile phones, four SIM cards, and a laptop.&rdquo; The police had found Siddique&rsquo;s biodata with his contact details in the apartment. The police studied his call records and found that the accused had made a call to an unknown number on the day of the murder. The police traced the number&rsquo;s location to the same Malad home on the day of the crime. This number, belonging to Bharadwaj, was one of the three mobile phones Siddique stole. Later, Siddique switched on this same mobile phone, during which police studied its location, reached the young man and arrested him. He then confessed to the killing.u00a0 The murder On October 17, an honest auto rickshaw driver found a wallet that belonged to Chetan Bharadwaj and returned it to auto union. An officer at the union returned it to Chetan&rsquo;s elder brother, who stays at Mira Road. When Bharadwaj didn&rsquo;t answer his calls, his brother and family went to his Malad apartment, where the freelance designer was found murdered, with multiple injuries on his body.
