Crimes against women continue relentlessly, with a fresh incident of gang rape reported in Borivli (W). The MHB police arrested three auto drivers for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl in a parking lot on Monday. A fourth suspect is absconding. According to the police, the teenager stays alone in a rented room in Borivli. The prime accused Sonu Kamble (20), who stays in the same locality, was known to her prior to the crime.

Around 8.30 pm on Monday, the girl went to Gokul Hotel, a diner in the neighbourhood, to pick up dinner for home. She was waiting opposite Tukaram Omble Park for an auto rickshaw to head back home, when Kamble (20) walked towards her and told her he would drop her home. As she began following him thinking they were walking to his auto, he dragged her to a parking lot nearby and raped her inside a tempo. He then called his friends, three other auto drivers, to the spot and all of them took turns brutalising her.
