Thane: An unidentified person abducted a 5-year-old girl sleeping by her mother's side from a house in the wee hours today and raped her at a public toilet, police said here.

Inspector Balasaheb Tambe of the Kasarwadavali police station said after the girl's father died, her mother moved to the city six months ago from Latur and started living with her parents.
