For almost two years, Usha Kale (78) was unaware about a fracture in her right leg, which, accompanied by severe arthritis, made her almost immobile. Now, a corrective surgery has brought Usha back on her feet. The Goregaon resident had been suffering from severe arthritis and bow knees in both her legs since September 2013.
“I had developed a huge swelling right below my knee. Even if I touched it, it would pain,” said Usha, who could only walk around the house with the help of a walker. “It was impossible for her to put any weight on her feet, especially the right foot,” said her son Uday Kale (54).
