The civic body got embroiled in a controversy when its citizens pointed out glaring errors in the draft DP published earlier this year. Municipal Commissioner Sitaram Kunte had to lose his chair, and the new commissioner Ajoy Mehta had to appoint an IAS officer, Ramnath Jha, specially for the project.

The civic body had received about 8500 suggestions and objections. Mehta then directed all ward officers to survey the locations and make changes at the ward level. The same has now been done, and the civic body is in the process of making the relevant changes in the new DP.

The leaders of political parties were appraised of the development on Friday and the municipal commissioner expressed his confidence of coming out with the revised DP before deadline.
