Abducted-raped UP teen rescued from Oshiwara

The courage and cleverness of a young woman helped Social Service branch of Mumbai police rescue her from Anand Nagar in Oshiwara on Sunday.

The 19-year-old had been kidnapped from Uttar Pradesh and brought here by the accused, who is on the run.u00a0The victim says her captor repeatedly raped her over many days and didn’t allow her a change of clothes. According to the police, on Sunday afternoon the woman managed to leave her room on the pretext of going to the toilet. She went to a nearby PCO booth instead and called her father on his mobile phone. She managed to inform him that she was in Mumbai.

The father notified the local police in UP. Cops there forwarded the message to Delhi police, who then informed Social Service branch in Mumbai. The PCO was traced and cops asked the owner and locals regarding the whereabouts of the woman. One person said he had seen her in a neighbouring chawl.
