CM Ashok Chavan yesterday proved that rules are made to be broken. After closing down all educational institutions, malls and multiplexes, he did not heed his own advice on avoiding crowds.

Solanki had an interesting take on the oversight. "Due to Janmashtami and swine flu, few people attended the event. The government just wanted to do something for the Gujar-ati community. But I agree that we should have considered the present situation. I will draw the CM's attention to this." State DGP S S Virk agreed that the gathering should not have taken place. However, Singh defended the meeting, saying, "Nothing happens if precautions are taken."
