The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd. (IRCTC) on Thursday announced a special religious tour package -- Ashta Jyotirlinga Shravan Special Yatra -- departing from Madgaon beginning on August 5, 2025.
Organised by IRCTC’s West Zone Mumbai Office, the tour will be conducted on the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train, offering pilgrims a convenient, affordable, and memorable journey during the holy month of Shravan.
Group General Manager (West Zone) Gaurav Jha said, “Our aim is to make religious tourism easier and more enjoyable for families, groups, and solo travellers. There is already strong interest in the market, and regular travellers quickly book these packages online.”
The Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train features a mix of Sleeper (Non-AC), AC III Tier, and AC II Tier coaches, accommodating around 600 to 700 passengers. The trains are fitted with CCTV cameras, infotainment systems, and an onboard pantry car serving fresh meals. The exterior design highlights India’s rich heritage, showcasing famous monuments, sculptures, and dance forms.
The all-inclusive package starts from Rs 23,880 per person, and bookings are available on www.irctctourism.com.
The all-inclusive package includes train travel, hotel stays, meals, road transport for sightseeing, tour guides, travel insurance, and other onboard services — all designed for comfort and value.
Earlier this week, the IRCTC had announced a special religious tour package -- the Ashta Jyotirlinga Shravan Special Yatra -- starting from Solapur in Maharashtra on July 19, 2025.
It said that the tour will be conducted on the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train, offering pilgrims a unique and comfortable way to visit the eight sacred Jyotirlingas across India during the holy month of Shravan.
It further stated that the initiative is being launched by IRCTC’s West Zone office in Mumbai.
According to Gaurav Jha, Group General Manager (West Zone), the yatra has been specially curated to offer families, groups, and solo travellers a seamless experience that combines spiritual fulfilment with the convenience of rail travel.
The tour will cover the following Jyotirlingas and locations including Dwarka (Nageshwar), Somnath, Ujjain (Mahakaleshwar), Omkareshwar, Nashik (Trimbakeshwar), Aurangabad (Grishneshwar), Parbhani (Parli Vaijnath) and Markapur (Srisailam Mallikarjun).
Boarding points for passengers include -- Solapur, Kurduwadi, Daund, Pune, Lonavala, Karjat, Kalyan, Vasai Road, Dahanu Road, Vapi, and Surat.
