Barely seven months after the Bandra East skywalk was completed, commuters say the 680-metre pedestrian bridge has begun showing signs of neglect, with hawkers, homeless people, garbage and occasional lighting failures becoming a regular sight.

mid-day conducted a spot check on Tuesday and found at least 11 hawkers operating on the skywalk and 12 people sleeping or camping along it with their belongings. No security guard was seen at the entry and exit points during the visit.
