Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday thanked the people of Maharashtra after the BJP-led alliance showed strong performance in various municipal corporation elections in the state.

In a message posted on social media platform X, the Prime Minister said the results reflected public support for the NDA’s agenda of people-focused and good governance. He said the outcome showed that the bond between the NDA and the people of Maharashtra had become stronger.


"The dynamic people of the state bless the NDA’s agenda of pro-people good governance," PM Modi wrote on X.



He further stated that the alliance’s track record and vision for development had connected well with voters.

He also expressed gratitude to people across Maharashtra, calling the mandate a vote for faster progress and a celebration of the state’s rich culture.

The Prime Minister also praised NDA workers for their efforts during the elections. He said party workers worked tirelessly on the ground, spoke to people about the alliance’s achievements and future plans, and responded effectively to what he described as false claims made by the Opposition.

"I am very proud of every NDA Karyakarta who worked tirelessly among people across Maharashtra," he said, while wishing them continued success.

Maharashtra relies on PM Modi's vision of development: CM Fadnavis

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday said that the BMC Election 2026 results show Maharashtra relies on PM Modi's vision of development.

CM Fadnavis along with top Maharashtra BJP leaders, addressed party workers at the BJP office in Mumbai after the party won record seats in Mumbai.

"We contested these elections with a vision of development under the leadership of PM Modi. That is why we got a record-breaking mandate in these elections. These results have clarified that Maharashtra relies on PM Modi's development agenda," CM Fadnavis said.

He added that Mumbai will get a Mahayuti mayor.

Earlier to his address, CM Fadnavis wrote on X that the BJP created political history on Friday by emerging as the single largest party in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, ending nearly three decades of dominance by the undivided Shiv Sena.

As per the trends, the BJP-led alliance is set to secure major victory in the 227 wards Mumbai civic body, India’s richest municipal corporation, which has an estimated budget of Rs 74,427 crore for 2025–26.
