The civic body has decided to act on the suggestions made by mid-day protect the biodiversity of Aarey colony while widening a stretch of the Link Road

Taking serious note of the report published in mid-day (Here’s what can protect biodiversity at Aarey, August 23) on solutions to neutralise the negative impact of the widening of a particular stretch part of the proposed widening of the Goregaon-Mulund Link Road (GMLR) of the Aarey Milk Colony road would adversely affect the wildlife and biodiversity it sustains, the BMC has decided to construct about five animal overpasses. Moreover, the 1,000 tress that were supposed to face the axe would now be replanted within the colony.
