BMC to fund Rs 4 crore garden in south Mumbai

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has adopted an 8.5 acres plot of land at Lower Parel, near Bombay Dyeing Mills Compound, to transform the area into a garden, complete with infrastructural facilities. Work on the garden, which is expected to cost a whopping Rs 4 crore, has already begun and is expected to get completed in a year. Entry will be free for all.
The garden will accommodate a bonsai garden spanning 11,520.53 sq mt, a yoga lawn, a gymnasium, an amphitheatre and a basketball spanning 1017.87 sq mt. Sanitation and other maintenance-related issues will be the responsibility of the BMC.
