BMC to soon get jumbo medical oxygen bottling plant at Mahul Road

The facility will come up at Mahul Road and can fill 500 jumbo cylinders in 8 hours; it will cost about Rs 11 crore

In the next one and a half months, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will get a jumbo medical grade oxygen bottling plant at Mahul Road. Some of the machinery for the project was given by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited on Thursday. The plant will be of immense importance in case the third wave of COVID hits the city, said officials.
Once operational, the plant in M-West ward will fill medical oxygen in 60 cylinders, with a capacity of 7 cubic metres, in one hour. At this rate, nearly 500 jumbo cylinders can be filled in an 8-hour session.
