Bus rams into tree on Mum-Goa highway, 5 dead

A journey to Goa in a luxury bus turned fatal for five two of whom are from Mumbai after the driver lost control of the vehicle and rammed it into a tree on the Mumbai-Goa highway. The incident took place around 5.15 am yesterday. 27 other passengers were also injured, out of which five are critical.
The bus, owned by Sai Pooja Travels, had left Parel at 9.30 pm on Saturday. Assistant Police Inspector RT Parab from highway traffic police (Chiplun division), said, “The driver of the bus was reportedly speeding, despite poor visibility conditions. He has been arrested.”
