The CBI on Friday detained a senior officer of the Income Tax department based in Mumbai for allegedly taking bribe of Rs 4.5 lakh.

SN Kamath, Additional Commissioner of the Income Tax Department in Mumbai, was detained while allegedly accepting a gratification of Rs 4.5 lakh from a complainant for clearing his tax returns, CBI Sources said.
