Central Railway reports record Rs 73.67 crore revenue from scrap disposal in April-May

The achievement was driven by systematic disposal of multiple categories of scrap and waste materials, including 5,926 metric tonnes of permanent-way scrap, 6,337 metric tonnes of ferrous scrap, 539 metric tonnes of non-ferrous scrap, 26,882 sleepers, along with rolling stock comprising three locomotives, eight coaches, and 29 wagons

Central Railway on Thursday reported a major environmental and financial milestone under its ‘Mission - Zero Scrap Status’, generating Rs 73.67 crore from scrap sales in April and May.

The initiative, implemented across all five divisions and workshops, aims to convert railway scrap into revenue-generating assets while promoting efficient resource utilisation and environmental conservation.
