The Central Railway (CR) will raise the platforms on the Harbour line and the mainline’s slow corridor to the extent that it will be level to the height of local train. This announcement was made by the CR general manager SK Sood at a function on Sunday which Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu attended.
The whole idea is to ensure that people do not fall in the gap between platforms and trains. This is possible when dedicated 5-6 rail lines come up for long distance trains. On May 30, Prabhu will attend a stone laying function for two new lines between Kurla to CST and also Parel Terminus.
