Mumbai: NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal today demanded that the memorandum of understanding with the Gujarat government on the Damanganga-Pinjal river interlinking project should be scrapped to ensure that the water which rightfully belongs to Maharashtra is not diverted.
The Assembly was adjourned for ten minutes due to heated argument over the issue between Irrigation Minister Girish Mahajan and NCP MLA Satish Patil, both from Jalgaon district of north Maharashtra.
