CM confident of ending Maoism in Maharashtra

Requests Home Ministry to probe source of funding of Maoist activities through the joint effort of the Central enforcement agencies and financial intelligence department

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has exuded confidence to end Maoist extremism in Maharashtra’s affected areas where developmental activities have been seeing success in the past one year.

Speaking at a conclave held by the Home Ministry in New Delhi on Friday, he said urban Maoism was on the rise through the Internet and social media, and an effective mechanism was needed to tackle it.
