The new modified coaches of the Central Railway (CR) rolled out on Friday and received mixed reactions from commuters. We travelled in the train that was to leave Kalyan at 12.21 pm, however, it being CR, it left at 12.34 pm. There were five modified coaches in the train.

While some were amused after seeing the new seats, many complained that the coach didn&rsquo;t have enough seats.
One of the most important drawbacks that arose in the new coaches was that people didn&rsquo;t go right inside and crowded the entrance leading to the passage.

Many commuters were apprehensive of going inside, fearing that they won&rsquo;t be able to alight on time. The inner parts of the coaches were empty.
This was the situation on a government holiday and the real test of the new arrangements will be seen on Monday when the holidays end.
