Congress scrambles to pacify Narayan Rane to stop him from targeting CM

The Congress is going out of its way to make sure its rebellious Industries Minister Narayan Rane stays within the party. Senior national and state leaders of the party spoke to the minister in a bid to control the damage he did by the public announcement of his resignation.

The Congress chief called Narayan Rane and also asked MPCC president Manikrao Thakre to meet him personally and ensure he does no damage to CM Prithviraj Chavan. Rane has said he will announce his reasons for quitting the government on Monday. File pics
