Cop arrested for taking Rs 40,000 bribe

A Sub-inspector was arrested by the Mumbai unit of the Anti-Corruption Bureau on Thursday.

The officer Vaibhav Patil from the Malwani police station was caught red-handed accepting a bribe of
Rs 40,000 from a real estate agent.

ACB officers revealed that they had received a complaint against Patil from a real estate agent who had alleged that Patil had asked him for a bribe.

A trap was laid on Thursday for Patil when he was asked by the complainant to meet him at D N Nagar in Andheri.

"Patil came to collect the bribe and as he was collecting the bribe we caught him," added the officer saying that further investigations were still on.u00a0
