Covid-19: Mumbai cases dive to 676, lowest in second wave

Mumbai saw relief after reporting 1,000-plus infections for past few days; state’s daily figures drop significantly to 15,077 cases and 184 fatalities

After breaching the 1,000-mark for the past few days, the number of daily Covid-19 cases on Monday dived to 676 — an all-time low during the second wave of the novel Coronavirus outbreak. The state, too, witnessed a massive fall in infections and fatalities.

The test positivity rate (TPR), which rose above 4 per cent on Sunday, dropped to 3.78 per cent on Monday, according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s report. The TPR was 3.14 per cent on May 28, the lowest in the second Covid-19 wave.
