Covid-19: Mumbai cases drop below 500; TPR rises slightly

The doubling rate of novel Coronavirus infections continues to improve and was recorded at 802 days on Monday.

The daily Covid-19 cases in the city dipped below 500 on Monday, and the fatalities halved from Sunday. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) updated data, Mumbai registered 489 new infections and 10 deaths.
The test positivity rate (TPR) of infections in the city saw a marginal rise, after recording a new low of second wave on Sunday. It was 1.59 per cent on Monday, according to the civic body’s data. The city’s TPR has been constantly below 2 per cent since June 27. On Sunday it was 1.47 per cent.
