Covid-19: Mumbai cases, fatalities rise on second consecutive day

The city’s test positivity rate also saw a rise but it remained below 1 per cent on Wednesday

After recording the second wave’s lowest daily cases and fatalities on Monday, the city saw a marginal rise in new cases and deaths for the second consecutive day on Wednesday. As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), 289 new cases were registered along with 9 deaths in Mumbai.

The city’s test positivity rate also saw a rise but it remained below 1% on Wednesday. While on August 10, it recorded the second wave’s lowest TPR with 0.75%, on Wednesday it was 0.78%. The doubling rate rose to 1,755 days on Wednesday.
