COVID-19: Mumbai continues its streak of over 1,000 fresh cases

There are a total of 126 sealed buildings in the city, most of which are in T ward (Mulund-18 ), S ward (Bhandup-17) and H west (Bandra to Santacruz West-16). There aren’t any sealed buildings in A ward (Colaba, Fort), B (Dongri, JJ hospital), C ward (Girgoan), L (Kurla) and K East (Jogeshwari to Vile Parle East).

For the second consecutive day the city reported more than 1,000 fresh COVID-19 cases, while the active cases reached almost 9,000. Fresh cases in the state also went beyond 8,000. While the lockdown has brought down the cases in Amravati district, the numbers in Pune and Nagpur are still on the higher side.  
 

Positivity rate increases

The city has been witnessing a sharp rise in cases since February 9. The tally crossed the 1,000 mark on Wednesday after a gap of 119 days. However, the number of cases on Thursday was slightly less than that of the previous day. A total of 23,351 tests were done on Thursday, of which 1,145 turned positive with a positivity rate of 4.9 per cent.
