Covid-19: Mumbai records fewer than 3,000 cases on second day

As per the BMC report, the overall growth rate of COVID-18 cases in Mumbai in the past week has been 0.58 per cent.

On the second consecutive day on Tuesday, Mumbai saw less than 3,000 new Covid-19 positive cases, though there were 62 deaths. As per the report released by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), 2,554 new cases were reported in the city and 5,240 patients were discharged on Tuesday. Presently, Mumbai has 51,380 patients under treatment.
Of the 62 deaths, 38 patients had comorbidities and 37 were aged above 60. There was a marginal improvement in the recovery rate which now stands at 90 per cent. The doubling rate of the city is 116 days. As per the BMC report, the overall growth rate of coronavirus cases in Mumbai in the past week has been 0.58 per cent. I S Chahal, the civic commissioner, said the city had 7,409 Covid-19 beds vacant including 100 ICU beds.
