COVID-19: Mumbai records less than 400 cases, Maharashtra less than 2,000

The total number of COVID-related deaths recorded in the state was 35, taking the total to 50,473 deaths. The city recorded 395 fresh cases. The Thane Municipal Corporation, Navi Mumbai and Kalyan Dombivali Corporation however, recorded 57, 39 and 59 cases respectively in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

The state recorded less than 2,000 cases of COVID-19 on Monday while the city reported less than 400 cases. The state recorded 1,924 cases taking the total tally of Maharashtra to 19.92 lakh.

The total number of COVID-related deaths recorded in the state was 35, taking the total to 50,473 deaths. The city recorded 395 fresh cases. The Thane Municipal Corporation, Navi Mumbai and Kalyan Dombivali Corporation however, recorded 57, 39 and 59 cases respectively in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. 


The state’s recovery rate now stands at 94.86 per cent with 3,854 patients discharged on Monday, alone. Mumbai’s recovery rate also stands at 94 per cent while the doubling rate is improving,  currently being at 409 days. The city’s daily growth rate is now at 0.21 per cent and the total count now stands at 3.03 lakh cases. The city has 6,676 ongoing cases. The mortality rate of the state was 2.55 per cent till date. The number of deaths due to other causes in the state was 1,207.



These deaths are cases where patients tested positive and then negative but later died due to other complications. The state saw 1.38 crore laboratory samples collected out of which 19.92 lakh tested positive with 14.39 per cent positivity ratio. There were 35 COVID related deaths in the state led by Mumbai with 7 deaths and followed by Nagpur with 5 cases. One death was recorded in Thane Municipal Corporation region apart from Mumbai, taking the total deaths in MMR to 8. According to civic officials out of the 7 deaths, 6 patients were suffering from other ailments and 5 deaths were senior citizens.
