Covid-19: Mumbai records lowest deaths at seven

While Mumbai sees 673 fresh Covid-19 cases, Maharashtra records a rise in infections at 10,891

For the first time in the second wave, Mumbai reported a single-digit death figure on Tuesday. While the city recorded seven deaths on Tuesday, it saw 673 fresh Covid-19 cases over the past 24 hours. It also recorded a test positivity rate (TPR) of 2.49 per cent.

After recording the lowest daily Covid-19 numbers in the second wave on June 3, Mumbai saw a rise in cases early last week but the numbers remained below the 1,000 mark. Sunday was for the first time in the second wave when the TPR dipped below 3 per cent.
