Covid-19: Mumbai’s cases see a rise, while fatalities dip

Number of deaths in state sees four-fold increase as new cases also rise

After recording fewer than 300 Covid-19 cases for the first time in the second wave on Monday, Mumbai registered 343 cases on Tuesday. The city also saw a marginal rise in the test positivity rate but fatalities remained in a single digit along with a dip in the number. However, Maharashtra saw a four-fold rise in deaths at 254 and an increase in new cases at 6,258.
As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) report, there were 5 deaths in Mumbai on Tuesday.
