After recording the lowest daily Covid-19 numbers in the second wave on Monday, Mumbai saw a rise in Covid-19 cases for the second consecutive day on Wednesday but managed to stay below the 1,000 mark. As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) report, 925 new Covid-19 cases were reported in the city. A significant rise in Covid-19 fatalities was also recorded at 31.

The test positivity rate (TPR), too, went up marginally as compared to Tuesday. The TPR on Wednesday was 3.74 per cent. On May 28, the city saw the lowest TPR of 3.14 per cent.
