Mumbai saw a significant drop in new cases on Monday but the test positivity rate rose. The TPR was 2.63%, a little higher than Sunday’s TPR which was 2.32%. As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) report, 529 new cases were reported across Mumbai on Monday. However, fewer tests were conducted.

After recording the lowest daily Covid-19 numbers in the second wave on June 3, Mumbai saw a rise in Covid-19 cases earlier last week, though the numbers remained below the 1,000 mark. June 6 was for the first time in the second wave that the TPR dipped below 3.
