Covid-19: Mumbai sees a spike in both cases and deaths

Mumbai reports 397 new infections, seven deaths; at 0.95 per cent, TPR also rises

A day after recording a drop in test positivity rate (TPR), Mumbai saw the figure rise along with the number of daily COVID-19 cases and deaths on Thursday. The TPR increased by 0.15 per cent to 0.95 per cent, and the city registered 397 new infections and seven fatalities. On Wednesday, the officials had confirmed 343 COVID-19 cases and four deaths. 

According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) report, among the seven deaths confirmed on Thursday, six patients had comorbidities, four were senior citizens and two were in the age group of 45-59 years.
